  1. Queries and Reports Evidence

  2. Queries…..

  3. Whilst creating my queries I kept in mind the results obtained from my spread sheet. The preferred food type was ‘Dairy’ and so therefore was my first query. I then typed in the code for dairy ‘’DY’’ (the validation code for dairy) sas my criteria for the Group. To narrow down my search I made the criteria for unit ‘’g’’ to represent grams. Therefore only Dairy products with the unit ‘grams’ will appear in my query.

  4. The finished query for ‘Preferred food type’ -‘Dairy’ products with the unit ‘grams’ is now complete.

  5. I then created a query for Dessert items. As Dairy has already been used the second most popular food according to my results was ‘Fruit’. Using this knowledge I then created my dessert items . To narrow down my search I made the criteria for unit ‘’g’’ to represent grams. Therefore only fruit products with the unit ‘grams’ will appear in my query. I then typed in the code for fruit ‘FT’ as my criteria for the Group in order for fruit items to appear in my query.

  6. The finished query for ‘Desert Item’ -‘Fruit’ products with the unit ‘grams’ is now complete.

  7. Finally I created a query for ‘Main Course Items. The most popular food group that had not been used was protein. From internet research I realised that protein is found in many meats so using this knowledge I then created my ‘Main Course Items’ query using ‘Meat’ . To narrow down my search I made the criteria for unit ‘’g’’ to represent grams. Therefore only fruit products with the unit ‘grams’ will appear in my query. I then typed in the code for as my criteria for the Group in order for fruit ‘FT’ items to appear in my query.

  8. The finished query for ‘Main Course Item’ -‘Meat’ products with the unit ‘grams’ is now complete.

  9. All three queries are now complete and ready to be made into reports.

  10. Reports..
