Mapping • The quality of the maps used has a major influence on the quality of the Census. • Maps guide the enumerator to the dwellings they need to enumerate, as well as other areas where people may be located during enumeration • The enumeration area formed when creating the maps can also form the basis for dissemination of output, • can be used as the building block in a geographic classifications • used to manage the enumeration process.

  7. Need to consider the Design Criteria • When designing the maps, need to consider: • need to cover whole country • management of enumeration • dissemination purposes, including alignment to other boundaries, such as postal areas
