  1. Solving multiple - steps equations Students will solve multiple - steps equations by doing the same operations on both sides.

  2. How can we find the solution for multiple step equation? Students ideas: - strategies

  3. Instructional slide – minilesson review • http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=34dada217712d76f3d51

  4. Instructional slide • Students will create three linear equation • (Make surethat the equations are in the form Ax + B = Cx + D and make sure that A+C is more than 10 and B + D is less than 10) example: 3x + 3 = x + 7 • Then share them with a classmates • Solve the equation in your notebook • Model friends equation in the algebra balance scale

  5. Student Activity • Model the equation example • http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/frames_asid_324_g_3_t_2.html?open=instructions

  6. Share • Students will present step by step solution • Students will do the check in their notebook

  7. Share • Write your own procedure for solving multi step equation

  8. Additional Resources Theory: Solving linear equation: http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/solveq/LSolvEq.htm ploting the graph: http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/frames_asid_109_g_3_t_2.html?open=activities

  9. Standards • List staMST3.07.AL7: Algebra • Students will represent and analyze algebraically a wide variety of problem solving situations. • Students will perform algebraic procedures accurately. • Students will recognize, use, and represent algebraically patterns, relations, and functions • MST3.08.AL7.04: Algebra • Students create a graph when given a description or an expression for a situation involving a linear or nonlinear relationship. • MST3.08.AL7.16: • Students find a set of ordered pairs to satisfy a given linear numerical pattern (expressed algebraically); then plot the ordered pairs and draw the line.ndards here
