  1. Geology Articles Choose ONE of the following Article prompts and write a 3-5 paragraph essay to answer ALL of the questions listed under your selected prompt. Be sure to provide an intro and conclusion to your essay. Be sure to use information from the article as well as from our class notes and discussions when writing your essay. Worlds in Eruption • How is volcanism & plate tectonics (or lack of plate tectonics) on other moons and planets mentioned in the article similar and/or different from volcanism & plate tectonics on Earth? Provide at least FOUR specific examples across our solar system. Be sure to compare the other planets and moons in our solar system to the plate tectonics of our planet. • In your opinion, why don’t other planets and moons in our solar system show past or present signs of plate tectonics. Explain your reasoning.   OR Nuclear Planet • Describe Herndon’s Nuclear Planet Theory. Provide an explanation of at least two forms of evidence to support Herndon’s theory. • Explain how the Nuclear Planet Theory is similar and different than the traditional theory we learned in class. • In your opinion, why hasn’t Herndon’s Nuclear Planet Theory gained more acceptance in the scientific community.
