What I’m trying to Accomplish • Creation of an environment for learning about Project Management industry standards and best practices. • Creating an environment for Professional Networking. • I believe by though improved knowledge, relationships and shared experiences that we will see improved project deliverables across the enterprise.

  3. What I’m not trying to accomplish • A PMO Office • We recognize that every department, division, organization has different standards, templates, and operating procedures for project management and were not attempting nor do we want to set policies for other people’s projects. • A CAPM or PMP Study Group • Our focus is on learning project management not studying for professional certifications.

  4. 2008 – 2009 Reading Plans • Sept – Dec 2008 • The plan is to choose one of the following books for reading • January/February 2009 – till finished • PMI Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) 4th edition. • The 4th edition is schedule for publication 4Q 2008 / Q1 2009 which will determine our start date for the new book. • The plan is to have another meet and greet prior to starting the PMBOK to allow for new members to join in at the start of the materials.

What’s Next • If your still interested please complete the paper forms in back. • Depending on the # of people interested we will have different meeting times and small group leaders to ensure group sizes don’t hinder sharing. • If your not interested or unable to attend now: • We be starting on the PMI Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) 4th edition in 1st Quarter 2009.
