    1. Logistic Toolbox Executive Briefing

    2. LogTool Course Training Objectives Curriculum runs through scenarios to demonstrate the use of Navy, other Services, DLA and Commercial automated logistic tools to solve backorders, cancellations and other logistic problems… Identify logistics tools available Understand purpose/capabilities Learn how to gain access Learn when and where to use Learn how they all work together Identify where help is available

    3. What the ‘Process’ can do for You Developing a Process will enable you to perform your job better and faster. Here are just a few examples of things you can do, once you go through this training. Developing a Process will enable you to perform your job better and faster. 4. Our Philosophy There is NO perfect system that handles all you needs. The tools available in Logistics Exchange and Logistics Toolbox help you do you job better. I will show you where you can request login access to many of these sites. You will understand the purpose of many of these sites, and how to effectively use one or many sites together. Redundancy is GOOD. You may access the same information through several different sites, so if one site is down, you have OPTIONS. Did you know that 50% of requests to call centers are to check status, and 25% for asset availability? We will go through a few scenarios using your data, possibly solving some of your backorders and other logistic problems. We expect you to have a basic knowledge of a PC, MS Excel and Notepad. There is NO perfect system that handles all you needs. 6. Programs You Should Use

    7. Some of the systems we train: Service systems like NAVSUP’s OneTouch

    8. Some of the systems we train: DLA’s WebFLIS

    9. Some of the systems we train: DLA’s DoD EMALL

    10. Some of the systems we train: WebVLIPS Purpose: Virtual Logistics Information Processing System (VLIPS) provides real-time access to transactional information that has passed through the Defense Automated Addressing System (DAAS). Inventory Control Points and Distribution Depots are continually sending status transactions to the customer and each other detailing the latest information on your requisitions. Since the system draws its data from transactions flowing through DAAS, information is available from all DoD Sources of Supply and GSA. If your transaction is in the system and you are getting status, you will see your requisition in VLIPS. The information kept on these transactions can be retrieved and used in a number of ways: single transactions, unit activity, NSN/part number, Project code or TCN queries, pre-stored reports, and user requested scans area available to perform analysis of base/unit support. Point of Contact: DAAS help Desk at DSN 986-3247 or commercial (937) 656-3247, FAX DSN 986-3901, email daashelp@daas.dla.milPurpose: Virtual Logistics Information Processing System (VLIPS) provides real-time access to transactional information that has passed through the Defense Automated Addressing System (DAAS). 14. Some things to keep in mind when using these systems WebVLIPS – requisitions that pass through DAAS WebVLIPS – requisitions that pass through DAAS

    15. The LogTool Process Identify what needs to be worked

    16. The LogTool Focus Work on what can be fixed easily, many BBs may have a positive outcome…

    17. LogTool Rules of Engagement Train people to be educated customers who know the rules…

    18. Be Creative Look for suitable substitutions and don’t discount reports of excess material, it is part of the supply system…

    19. Verify Status of Requisitions

    20. Train yourself, SODHC, SR SODHC to use the best programs and systems available Take advantage of a proven training program which started at NSCS, it just needs some minor updating! Students take the book or download it to train their people. Once trained they can save money, improve readiness, ask intelligent questions and know how long the answers should take! Once empowered with information, SUPPOs can use it with PMO, GDSC, ICP, DDs and many other organizations to get what they need.
