  1. 05-05-13 PM REST FREEDOM FROM ACTIVITY OR LABOR PEACE OF MIND OR SPIRIT THE SABBATH

  2. Matthew 11 28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. What do we need to abide by from the OT?

  3. Hebrews 3 7. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 8. Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 9. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 10. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 11. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 17. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18. And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 19. So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

  4. Hebrews 4 1. Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5. And in this place again, if they shall enter into my rest. 6. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

  5. Hebrews 4 7. Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11. Let us labour therefore to enter into THAT rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

  6. Revelation 6 5. And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

  7. Isaiah 64 6. But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Romans 3 20. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: Hebrews 10 1. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Romans 3:23. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

  8. Galatians 3:11. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Titus 3 5. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Romans 11:7. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

  9. Romans 5 1. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Philippians 3 9. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Psalms 34 4. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from ALL my fears. 1 John 5 3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Romans 13 8….for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 10….therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

  10. 1 Corinthians 3 9. For we are labourers together with God: 2 Corinthians 5 19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. WORK…REST John 14:10....the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

  11. WORK…REST THE WORK 1: INTERCESSION 2: THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION 3: ADMONISH…WARN 4: EXHORTATION…ENCOURAGE 5: COMFORT 6: INSTRUCT 7: A LIGHT TO THE WORLD…EXAMPLESHIP Philippians 2: 13. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
