  2. Earth’s Spheres Earth is made up of spheres, arranged from lowest density (above Earth) to highest density (center of Earth). Interface – boundary between different layers

  3. Earth’s Spheres 1. Atmosphere – layer of gases above Earth’s surface.

  4. Earth’s Spheres 2. Hydrosphere– layer of liquid water between the atmosphere and Earth’s interior.

  5. Earth’s Spheres • Lithosphere – layer of solid rock below hydrosphere and atmosphere • Divided into lithospheric plates • Crust = the upper part of the lithosphere

  6. Earth’s Spheres 4. Earth’s Interior– extends from the Earth’s surface to the Earth’s center.
