    2. marionette • Definition: A puppet worked by strings. • Sentence: She was so sluggish that she acted like she was a marionette.

    3. MARIONETTE CONTINUED… Evidence “What incredible power of identification the girl had; she was like the eager watcher of a marionette show, anticipating each flicker of an eyelid, each gesture of his hand, each flick of a finger, the moment before it began.”

    4. Mausoleum • Definition: A building used to house a tomb or tombs. • Sentence: The huge house, old and dusty, looked like a mausoleum.

    5. MAUSOLEUM CONTINUED… Evidence “It was like coming into the cold marbled room of a mausoleum after the moon has set.”

    6. proboscis • Definition: An elongated sucking organ of an insect; a nose. • Sentence: The proboscis of the large bear sensed the bear’s next meal.
