The transition to Common Core Standards is vital for strengthening Tennessee's educational competitiveness. With only 21% of adults holding a college degree and the state ranking 46th in 4th grade math and 41st in reading nationally, there is an urgent need for improvement. Preparing for PARCC assessments involves strong leadership, effective communication, and a focus on continuous improvement. Our priorities include supporting school leaders, narrowing assessments, and implementing no-stakes evaluations that align with PARCC. This initiative aims to ensure students are college-ready and equipped for future job demands.
