The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) has launched a comprehensive series of WIDA professional development modules aimed at enhancing the skills of educators. These modules, accessible at no cost through NC's HomeBase system, are designed for various participants, including in-service content teachers, ESL educators, school administrators, and district professionals. The focus is on preparing students for college and career readiness. To access, log into the NC Educator Effectiveness System and navigate to the Professional Development tab.   1. Online WIDA Module NC DPI has created a comprehensive series of professional development modules for expanded WIDA Professional Development state-wide. Supporting the focus on college and career-ready students, the distance education platform and module format facilitate the course for a variety of participants, such as in-service content teachers, ESL educators, school administrators, and district-level professionals. The modules are available for all NC educators at no cost through NC's HomeBase system.

  2. Once logged onto the • NC Educator Effectiveness System: • Click on the Professional Development tab at the top • Scroll to the bottom right and find the area, "Focus Area Aligned Courses“ • Click English as a Second Language • The WIDA course shows up as the second offering: #235
