External Researchers • There have been 433 research proposals submitted over the past ~7 years: • 221 came from 14 organizations • The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education conducts the most research in the District • The remaining approved research projects are from an additional 120 universities, government agencies, or organizations

  5. External Research Topics • The majority of studies have dealt with ten broad categories: • Nutrition, health and physical education is most common and includes work on HIV prevention, vision, nutrition education and programs to encourage physical activity • Several ongoing behavioral health and college and career readiness studies
