  4. Health impacts 25 - 50% of population showing symptoms of flu 10 - 25% of symptomatic cases may develop complications 0.5 - 4% of symptomatic cases may need hospitalisation 6 days average hospital stay for those with severe illness; 11 days if immediately life threatening
