  6. Additional Info: What is Optical Character Recognition? OCR is an image processing technology used to identify vehicles by their license plates or trains by their unique numbers. OCR is a non-intrusive, computerised method of matching a License Plate / Train number to a database of registration numbers. Alternate names for OCR: License plate recognition (LPR): Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) Car Plate Recognition (CPR) Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)

  17. Data transmission: Medium to be used in conveying data ESKOM Network – primary OR Fixed line business ADSL iBURST – secondary - only if primary fails 3G or HSDPA– only if both primary and secondary fail • A wide range of communication links allow over 99.95% availability to automated database update in real time. This is essential for the provision for a real time solution. • An unlimited number of sites data can be transmitted to a central server where the data is made available in real time. If the data lines go down, up to 100 000 transactions can be stored locally, until the central server is available. DATA STORAGE • 2 servers with redundant storage backup

  18. Site Configuration Multiple sites Multiple lanes per site Multiple cameras per lane (BW, IR, Colour, OV, stereo: front & rear Multiple images per camera Multiple settings per image One result / transaction

  19. Reporting and Management Lane / Department / Terminal / Location Sort By – License Plate / Name / Surname / Enroll ID / Time etc Sort by: T&A In /Out or A/C or both Sort by Period: Yesterday, Today, Last Week, This Week, Last Month, This Month, Month and Year, Date Range, All Current Year, All Last Year Global Date Print to Screen, Printer or XLS everywhere Audit Trail Nothing can be deleted Movement of data to Current, Not Active or Deleted Clocking data controlled by Status Full history of changes of every record Audit of Changes made to setting on device

  22. Solution: Neural networks Operating in real time, are being utilised extensively world wide. I-CUBE uses NEURAL NETWORKS to illustrate the concept to identify and track suspected vehicles and people. The ability to automatically predict and identify vehicles or people involved in theft or wrongful unitization of resources greatly empowers authority.

  23. 3D & HNet(Holographic quantum neural technology) automatic continuous learning Adjusting for difference due to aging and cosmetics without increasing the size of the biometric template Unique differentiation

  24. Face recognition is a non-intrusive, biometric method of matching a given face to a database of faces. • Can be used to ID a known suspect against a previously stored template or image (s) Facial Recognition What is facial recognition?

  25. Facial 3D Neural Network: 3D & HNet (Holographic quantum neural technology) automatic continuous learning Automatically tracks multiple faces in an image stream Links into any Network / Digital Video Recording system Biometric templates are continuously updated through a process referred to as "Training" using facial images captured during subsequent verify operations. Adjusting for difference due to aging and light without increasing the size of the biometric template

  26. The proposed FRS learns, remembers and recognises, becoming more familiar with your face each time it sees you, adjusting for difference due to aging and cosmetics. Facial Recognition 3D System – Intelligence

  27. Biometric templates are continuously updated through a process referred to as "Training" using facial images captured during enrollment operations or during subsequent verify operations. This ensures that the biometric templates are as up-to-date as possible. Facial Recognition Training

  28. Facial Recognition System – LOG of all FACES which appear in front of any camera connected to the software.

  29. Other problems solved: ID of staff

  30. 3D Imaging Solutions • Coal sizing • Coal colour • Train • volume • Truck • volume • Conveyor belt 3D • volume

  31. Overview Most important to determine the correct tonnage's by accurate bulk densities and reliable volumetric surveys. I-Cube believe that such monitoring should be done by an independent and unbiased agency, and not be monitored by a party who might have a vested interest. Automatic 3-dimensional Dynamic Measurements: 3DM Contact-free measurement technique based on photogrammetric principles: science of geometry, mathematics and physics that uses the 2-dimensional image of a 3 dimensional scene to reconstruct a reliable and accurate model of the original 3D scene. Custom-designed for repetitive and fully automatic measurement tasks. The unique benefits of the 3DM Technology include 3D measurements of moving objects or objects changing shape, fully automatic during operation and provide permanent, digital, records of the objects. Key strength of 3DM is versatility - Any size object can be measured, from a range of a few metres to several kilometres away. with the results available in seconds, almost in real-time.

  32. Stockpile Monitoring

  33. Automatic Stockpile Monitoring Close-Range Photogrammetry is an accurate, cost effective technique of collecting measurements of real world objects and conditions directly from high resolution IP cameras. Photogrammetry utilizes digital images to obtain accurate measurements and geometric data of the image, in order to provide spatial information for 3D measurement. Benefits of close-range photogrammetry : Increased accuracy; complete as-built information; reduced costs; Do not need to stop operations; Effective for small and large projects. Suitable photography involves taking a pair of convergent images of the same scene from separate positions. 3DM is a set of specialised software tools designed to extract accurate 3D spatial measurements by analysing images taken with digital cameras.
