Project • Consortium of IEAA, TDA and ACPET • Aim: to develop a series of seminars to enable Australian VET providers to develop/enhance their business skills so as to increase their offshore operations and bring export returns to the Australian economy. • The seminar series will have a range of supporting products/materials and available to the sector. VET International Business Skills Project: VET Sector Breakfast Consultations

  3. Focus • Systems development • Sale and delivery of customised training offshore • Professional development of overseas VET trainers • International student recruitment, both onshore and offshore VET International Business Skills Project: VET Sector Breakfast Consultations

Phase 1 • Identify priority needs and gaps in provision of business skills professional development offerings for VET • Determine the characteristics (especially job roles and key competencies) of the priority target groups • Identify the need for ongoing provision of professional development offerings in workshop format, or other suitable formats, possibly leading to award qualifications.   5. Phase 2 Development of a “series” of national seminars/workshops in areas of identified and agreed priority. If industry consultations suggest, propose other forms/modes of delivery to achieve the desired objective VET International Business Skills Project: VET Sector Breakfast Consultations

Methodology • Industry consultations with stakeholders in the public and private VET sectors, and with relevant professional groups, RTOs and government organisations providing PD • Audit of existing PD relevant to the project VET International Business Skills Project: VET Sector Breakfast Consultations

Phase 1 Preliminary Results Findings need to be segmented: • Public/private differences • Work levels/responsibilities (junior, middle management, executive) • Levels of experience of staff (new, intermediate, advanced) VET International Business Skills Project: VET Sector Breakfast Consultations
