Amongst that list of NBA players of short stature, the tiniest of them all in the history of the league is none other than Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues, coming in at a tiny 5 feet 3 inches tall. That is simply a few inches taller than being scientifically labeled as a midget. However, that didn't stop the small star from going far for himself in the league. While he wasn't a world-beater, with profession averages of 7.7 points per video game and 7.6 helps per video game, he had his share of highlights. This person has athletic talents and muggsy bogues dunk jumping ability that no guy his size should have. For instance, have a look at Muggsy Bogues getting a breakaway pass and going to the hoop all alone. For many point guards or anyone of his height, that would cause a simple lay-up. Nope. Not for Muggsy. Watch as Bogues skies (a vertical jump measured at over 54 inches-- just 9 inches shy of his own height!) up to the rim and throws down a dunk that no man his size has any business doing. While he wasn't at the All-Star level in the NBA, just making it to the league is an accomplishment in itself. They don't simply let any slouch on the roster or in a game, and Bogues was a 1st Team All-ACC choice during his time in college at Wake Forest. The man has the abilities to prove he belonged in the leagues, as evident in his emphasize reel below, showcasing his leading 10 plays throughout his time in the NBA: To put this person's size into perspective, after he was done with his playing days, after dabbling in realty for a little while, he got in the coaching world. He took management of the Charlotte Sting in the WNBA (the females's expert basketball league) and was much shorter than all of his female players! It's apparent that the man has a God-given talent and put in a great deal of work to get his skills to the level that he did. If you want to take a career like Muggsy, you much better start dealing with your shooting and ball- handling, because at his size you will need remarkable abilities to make it in the league. Your odds are better if you grow a bit taller (ok, perhaps not a bit-- how about an additional foot or 2?). So how do you do that?
