Mission Statement “The mission of Brookside Elementary is that students will become respectful, responsible, peaceful and lifelong learners.”
Once upon a time… • … in 1865 Brookside started as a small two room house that served as the neighborhood schoolhouse. • In 1866 two more rooms were added! • As the neighborhood grew in the early 1900s, so did the number of children and the schoolhouse grew to 20 rooms and an auditorium. • In 2004, renovations took place to turn the school into what it is today! • Relics from the past are still seen.

Boner Community Center inspires neighbors and partners to improve the quality of life on the Near Eastside by providing tools for change and growth. • We work to build a community where people want to live, work and leave an impact.”
The E.D.G.E. Mission • “The E.D.G.E. program provides students from the Near Eastside a safe and fun out-of-school learning experience.”
