  1. AUV Mission #53 Campaign: CMOP ETM-1 Ship: R/V Oceanus Date: 8 May 2012 Start: 10:47h Duration: 5 hr 13 min

  2. shallow deep shallow

  3. Surfacings (renavigation may not be good!)

  4. bottom

  5. Specific cross-section (14.1 < time < 14.5)

  6. surfacing

  7. surfacing

  8. Look at turbidity “end-members”

  9. ALL DATA! Some variability in slope of linear mixing fit but river and ocean end-members mostly differ by ±5 % in non-ETM signature turbidity. Good- this means corrections due to dilution are small! Strong salty ETM waters weaker fresh ETM waters Fresh River water Ocean Salt water

  10. CROSS-SECTION (14.1->14.5 hr) max height of boundary layer Deep- center of channel well mixed some asymmetry Shallow- edges of channel

  11. CROSS-SECTION (14.1->14.5 hr) Deep- center of channel is salty some asymmetry Shallow- edges of channel are fresher

  12. CROSS-SECTION (14.1->14.5 hr) max height of boundary layer well mixed
