The session 2009—2010 is behind us but while we look forward to the new academic year with the hope that it will bring better tidings for the world and for Pakistan, in the field of education in particular. We should also take a look at our past achievements and learn from our experiences in order to consciously improve ourselves. To be of value is to have certain virtues. From the historical point of view, value means a thing which is good, a widely accepted concept of value. In traditional philosophy, it is “Truth, Goodness and Beauty”. When a value is operational in our being, it acts like a safeguard.

Hopefully a new academic year will bring a positive development and we will Insha’ Allah witness more growth in the educational field

Mothers’ Day

To pay homage to all mothers, The City School, Gulshan Boys Campus celebrated Mother’s day on Thursday, May 13, 2010, in which the students of junior VI presented a poem and skit which beautifully portrayed the mother-child bond and the pains which a mother bears in the upbringing of her child.

Earth Day

On April 22, 2010, Earth Day was celebrated to create awareness about saving the mother Earth from all types of pollution. This theme was dramatized where Earth was sad and sorrowful because of her deteriorating conditions. The background was made colorful with flowers, trees and birds. Two students played the role of Angels to come to Earth to see her beauty. This was a combine production of all levels in the Campus.

Pet’s Day

On Pet day the students of Jr. VI brought their pets including parrots, pigeons, checks, cats tortoises, fishes etc.

All the cages and bottles were labeled. Students kept on feeding them through out the day while the other students read out the information related to those pets stuck on the cages and bottles. It was a day full of noises and liveliness.

Knowing the ratio of the poor and underprivileged citizens, we have realized the importance of the social services in our society. One must have ethical values to penetrate in the society. So, to inculcate the values in the future graduates, the Management established a society for the ameliorations of the community and the students as well. In the supervision of Ms TahiraTahir, Ms SajidaGhaus, Ms InshaKabir and Ms TasneemImtiaz, 50 member students have volunteered to be the part of the group. Shaikh Muhammad Farhan and Khurram Jahangir of Senior I have been working as the president and the vice president respectively.
