  3. General principles regarding our prayer life.Mat 6:5-8

  4. 9 Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 2 Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation. Template for our PrayersMat 6 cf. Luke 11

  5. “Father”Direct your prayers to God the Father only.

  6. “Hallowed be Your name” We express vehemently that the name of God the Father is Holy and Sanctified. We glorify Him!

  7. “Your kingdom come”Our expression of confident expectation of our own eternal life and security in His Kingdom. Plus subjection to His will!

  8. “Give us each day our daily bread”Petition for our daily needs, both physical and spiritual.

  9. “And forgive us our sins”Confession of your sins to God the Father; the Rebound technique, 1 John 1:9.

  10. “For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us”

  11. Forgiving others is a condition without which God will not forgive us, because having a heart of unforgiveness means we are operating in sin and are under the control of our Sin Nature.

  12. Mat 18:21-22, “Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”

  13. “And do not lead us into temptation”God does not and can not tempt us, James 1:13.

  14. James 1:13, “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.”

  15. Temptation is a trial or period of enticement, being in a proving ground: “will you be overcome by the thought or situation?” or “will you overcome it?”

  16. This is a prayer for God to give you the strength and fortitude necessary, through His Word and Spirit, to not give in to temptations and to remain inside GPS.

  17.
