1. SAP EHS (Environment,Health & Safety Management) Overview: SAP EHS supports the management of industrial hygiene, safety, and occupational health processes. SAP EHS Management helps you ensure compliance with regulations for product safety, hazardous substances, dangerous goods, and waste management What Is SAP EHS? SAP EHS is software that was created to effectively and efficiently deal with occupational health, industrial hygiene, and the overall safety of workers, products, and the organization. It empowers the integration of safety and health measures in the organization's existing business processes. SAP EHS allows organizations to be legally compliant, reduce costs, and minimum risks simultaneously. It provides an overall solution for the organizations for management of the environment, health, and safety. Use of SAP EHS Management SAP EHS Management is integrated very well in the relevant SAP ERP processes. Normally it is not used as a “standalone” application/module. It support companies to be compliant regarding chemical products. The main integration points are: SAP MM SAP DMS SAP SD SAP PP SAP QM SAP PM SAP EHS Management classic uses as well the SAP class/characteristic system. By using this you can “easily” enhance EHS to maintain additional data which is not possible by using SAP standard. Keep in mind that SAP delivers update to SAP Standard property tree sometimes (please check SAP marketplace; you will find an important OSS note regarding this (Standard property tree)). If you are owning a SAP Regulatory Content license you will get these updates “nearly” automatic. For those who would like to start with SAP EHS Management especially these modules are of importance and therefore you should invest some time to understand the use of them and the relation to SAP EHS Management: SAP MM (definition of the material master, assignment of material to specification; use of material classes) SAP SD (basic know how needed because of e.g. SDS/MSDS distribution and Dangerous Goods Management integration) SAP DMS (basic know how needed to understand how e.g. WWI reports are managed (stored) in SAP; it is recommended that you should have basic know how in the area of “ArchiveLink” and similar solutions

2. SAP EHS Key Components Hazardous substance management : Includes all of the activities that need to be carried out in order to work safely and track Hazardous substances. Dangerous goods management : Involves the processes that should be carried out in order to efficiently, effectively, and safely manage the storage management, transportation, and delivery of dangerous goods. Product safety management: Includes adequately and safely dealing with the manufacturing and procurement of hazardous products Waste management: Includes creation of a central process, wherein all of the exercises that you need to engage in order to effectively and safely manage the waste disposal process are carried out. Occupational health management: Includes periodically analyzing, tracking, and conducting health observation checks in the organization in order to determine patterns and trends in the overall health of the organization and to take the necessary actions to fix and address those health concerns. Industrial hygiene and safety:Includes focusing on the hygiene and safety of your organization and effectively and efficiently managing hazards. Basic data and reporting:Includes all of the functions that organizations need in order to deal with the other EHS functions easily. This includes the creation of a single central point for all EHS Tasks.
