  2. Our idea • We wanted to create a fitness website that offers a range of fitness plans that are specific to the customer and the results that they want to achieve. We wanted to combine this with also creating a food plan tailored to work with and help the fitness plan provided. • Users would have to enter their height, weight and what it is they want to achieve (for example to lose weight) and a generator will produce a fitness plan and a food plan tailored to the results that the user wants. • Users would also be able to enter their postcode and a list of gyms within their area will come up, with advice on which gym is best value for money. • Users would have a profile that they keep updating that would track their progress and they can upload recipes of their own that they have found effective for others to use.

  4. Structure of Mi.Fit

  5. Research • Through extensive research we’ve found it difficult to find an extensive and helpful fitness plan on the internet without having to pay a fee to get advice from a personal trainer. Whilst there were hundreds of websites that provided short fitness plans for various results, there wasn’t a combination of food and fitness plans tailored to a specific person, allowing the user to enter their personal information and generate a work out and food plan that they can use to train.

  6. Other Apps & Websites • Myfitnesspal: counts calories and encourages weight loss and gives a range of diet and exercise plans. This this is the app we found that was most similar to our idea, however, they don’t offer the opportunity to enter your own information and generate your own results. • Gym Goal: Offers a range of simple exercises for specific muscles and keeps a history of your previous workouts, helping you to improve on your last workout. However, their range of workouts are limited. Gym Goal fails to offer any other advice other than simple workouts.

  7. Other Apps & Websites • Fitness Buddy • Bod Bot • Fit Star • Similarly to GymGoal, the above apps all focus solely on workouts for different muscle groups and give no further advice on a diet plan. • Women’s health magazine offers numerous diet tips and workouts focussed on various aspects such as toning or fat burning, however these are limited and are not personalised to the customer.

  8. XRGenomics • XRGenomics is the website we found that was most similar to our idea. They deliver personalised fitness advice focussed largely on scientific research. Whilst the service they provide is unique and personalised, it’s not specific to gym training and what to eat. They also have a joining fee of £149 whereas our service is free and more focussed on getting results in your local gym.

  9. Content- Foods for training • Whole Grain Bagels are one of the carbs deliver a steady flow of energy over time rather than one big burst. "You want complex carbohydrates in their natural package, aka whole grains." A whole-grain bagel is an ideal pre-sweat-session pick! • BananasThanks to bananas' high potassium content, peeling one is a speedy solution to that stitch in your side. While a lack of sodium is the main culprit behind muscle cramps, studies show potassium plays a supporting role: You need it to replace sweat losses and help with fluid absorption. • Berries USDA researchers recently placed fresh berries on their list of the 20 foods richest in antioxidants. Just a handful of blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries is an excellent source of these potent nutrients • Chicken Thighs Dark-meat poultry is significantly lower in fat than red meat yet has all the iron, zinc, and B vitamins that women need in their diets," says Seattle sports nutritionist Susan Kleiner, Ph.D., author of Power Eating

  10. Content- Workout to lose weight • Stretch • Thursday • "Rock Solid Abs" Strength Training Program. • Stretch. • Friday • Run30 minutes. • Walk5 minutes. • Stretch. • Saturday • Rest Day • Sunday • Run 30 minutes. • Walk 5 minutes. • Stretch. • Monday Run 30 minutes.Walk 5. Stretch. • Tuesday "Tone Zone" Strength Training Program. Stretch. • Wednesday Run 30 minutes. Walk 5.

  11. Software/Programs • For the ‘Enter Details’ page of our site we will use Quizbox, a free online program where you can create your own quizzes and embed them onto your website. We chose this because of the question answer resultstyle to the page. • We would want users to feel safe in their payments to us when becoming a member, so using a brand like paypal would be important in creating this safety. • Trust is an important aspect in any company-customer relationship so using brands which customers know and feel safe with makes our website more trustworthy too. (Delgado et al)

  12. Supporting theories • Our home page is minimalist, allowing the user to use visual cues to understand what our website is about and for. We went for a strong visual element by using an image which takes up the whole screen. • Degeratu et al., (2000) discovered that visual cues have higher impact on online choices. When a customer enters out website they are met with a large banner image of a healthy man and woman exercising, giving the user an expectation of what they can become through our service. This makes our product seem effective and will encourage users to begin their fitness journey with us.

  13. Supporting theories • To support our fitness workouts/exercises we will post pictures alongside the instruction as words alongside pictures make the subject 6X more likely to be remembered (Paivio)
