  3. 2 Technical How we built the FSGeoportal 1 3 • IT world was in a state of rapid flux • ISO/CGA • IRM • USDA Portal technology • Open Source software and surplus hardware • LAMP / WAMP architecture • Project staffing was limited by both personnel and time • Detailed Marge Lubinski (FS Lolo NF) to assemble content 4 5 6

  5. 4 Audience Everyone who has interest in geospatial activities 1 2 3 • Guests – anonymous users – just looking around READ ONLY ACCESS • Can submit suggestions for content • Registered Users – create a unique profile • Can contribute content • Can subscribe to notifications • Communicate with other users via private messaging • Moderators – content area stewards / forum managers • Webmasters – Application control 5 6
