  6. SIMIS S Safety Integrity Level (HW) • SIL 4 is achieved with a THR <10-8. According to the TÜV approval, SIMIS S hardware has a typical THR of 1,18*10-9 which is well below the minimal requirements of EN 50129. Please refer to the table below taken from EN50129 standard, page 41

  13. SIMIS S Ease of installation & maintenance • Modularization of hardware • Worldwide availability of spare parts typically within a few (1-3) days • Easy to use configuration and modification tools; • Powerful, integrated tools for servicing and diagnostics • Hot swappable modules : Incase of any failure in the module (in the installed station / cabin) , module can be removed & replaced “online” without any special tools & stoppage of entire system by any semi skilled person • Fool-proof installation by hardware coding (mechanical) of the modules

  15. SIMIS S Special features • Installation & maintenance friendly design of the required components • No special tools necessary • “Untrained“ personnel can install hardware . • Fool-proof: cards cannot be inserted if HW coding is wrong and System will not activate any mismatching card though System is still operational (except for the faulty/mismatching card) • Hot swap of I/O cards • Rack wise distribution of Interface Relays IO modules • Communication via fiber optic, copper, radio or telecom links without engineering changes. • PROFIBUS connection between racks, reduction of soldering points • Full testing can be performed in factory • Reduced installation time at site • Robust • HW designed for harsh environmental conditions (e.g. steel mills, foundries, nuclear power stations, …) • No A/C or special ventilation requirements • Safe • Designed and approved for railway signaling application according to CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128,EN 50129 standards e.g. SIL 4. • Performance increase due to compatible transitions to future processing equipment

  16. SIMIS S Maintenance & Trouble Shooting Hot swapping of IO Cards • Remove and Insert IO cards when the system is in operation • No need to shut and restart the system if an IO card needs to be replaced. Benefit – Ease of maintenance and increased MTBF

  20. SIMIS S Rack Structure • Rack wise distribution of Interface Relays IO modules • Only PROFIBUS connection between racks • Each rack has 96 way Tag Block for termination of cable from CT Rack • Full testing can be performed in prewired setup at Mumbai itself. • Reduced installation time @ site • Easy addition of Relay racks in future • Maximum soldering carried in-house,

  23. SIMIS S Merits of the Distributed system • East & West cabins for station are covered by distributed SSI system with Interlocking equipment in each of the 2 cabins connected on OFC & a common control-cum-Indication panel in one location. • Advantage of this system is saving of Signaling cables from cabin (east) /west to Central room. • Far off signals & points, track can be interfaced in cabin itself. • Redundant CPU’s are installed at central locations only. Hence any change / modification as required will be done at central location only. • In case of any failure in the module (located in cabin) , module can be removed & replaced “online” without any special tools & stoppage of entire system by any semi skilled person. • We will be supplying SIMIS S Electronic interlocking system on a totally prewired basis. The system will be fully pre-wired and tested in our premises. The pre-wiring wiring includes the following: • Wiring from IO modules to the Interface relays. • Profibus wiring between the racks • Profibus wiring from the Operating & Indicating panel to the EI. • This concept of pre-wiring enables to test the complete installation and thereby minimize the wiring and testing time at site .
