    3. How our programme works Patient initiated programme (BUT they need to know it’s there!) Not call/recall like other screening programmes Non-clinical access to screens (so non-clinical staff can give out test) Treatment offered in different settings Confidential service – not linked to GPs or other services, eg Contraceptive Services or GUM FREE for kits and treatment

Chlamydia Screening Office – Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Where we screen (over 300 sites in total): Choices – 10 sites – young people’s sexual health service GPs Pharmacists (pilot in City) School nurses – (County only) Antenatal Prisons – HMP YOI Glen Parva & HMP Gartree Universities and colleges Employers, eg, British Gas Centrica, ASDA Voluntary Sector (eg, TRADE, LASS) Military bases Youth Offending Service Contraceptive Services – eight sites There are other sites, but this will give a flavour of the variety of places that we’re screening in.There are other sites, but this will give a flavour of the variety of places that we’re screening in.

    6. Set up We will: Deliver everything that you need Kits Treatment forms Four-pack of condoms for positive patients Helpful tips leaflet Training session for all your staff

How the programme works Patient will complete own form and provide urine sample Completed sample and form to be sent to Virology Virology to send result to Chlamydia Screening Office electronically (copy sent to testing site) Chlamydia Screening Office will notify all patients – positive, negative or equivocal

    8. How the programme works: Usually texted Negatives – “All OK. CS” Positives/Inhibitories/Insufficient Specimen – “Please call on 0116 295 7822. CS” Three attempts to contact a positive If no response then letter to GP Positives signposted for treatment

    9. Treatment of positives Screening/testing sites will be notified of positives When positive attends for treatment complete form Forms (or copies of forms) to be returned to Chlamydia Screening Office in stamped addressed envelopes Treatment: Clammelle CSO pays for cost of treatment

    10. Support available to screening sites New national ad campaign Local Communications Plan (linked to national programme) Chlamydia Screening Updates (newsletter) www.haveigotit.co.uk Credit cards, leaflets, badges (“Ask me about chlamydia” !) Use our staff!!
