  1. Ads Are Everywhere By Aidan Dunlap

  2. Introductory Essay Ads are everywhere. I believe that wherever you go, sometime during the day you will come in contact with an ad. The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA.) did a study, and found out that the average American comes in contact with 600 ads a day. How is that possible, and why? What about those regular ads, like TV, radio and print ads? In the same study, it came out that only 272 came from regular ads, and the rest were other types of ads. The leading source of these 272 regular ads is McDonalds. McDonald’s spends over $2,000,000,000 a year on advertising. Ads are popular on TV, radio and print, but what about other types of ads? There are also online ads. There are more than you think. Take Google for example. If you Googled “computer,” the Apple Mac comes first. Why? Because Apple paid Google to list it first. If you “Googled“ something, wouldn't you choose the first choice? That’s an Ad. Also, there is spam. When you give your email to a website, you are automatically locked onto tons of ads (unless you click no). I have been talking about all hi tech ads, but now it is time for the basics. One basic ad is a billboard. Billboards are made so if you are a mile away, you can still read the ad. Even billboards have became advanced. Some have sundials and some even have 3D sculptures stuck to boards. There are also light up ads, neon and others. They give a glow and get your attention. Times Square used to be only filled with bright ads, not big TV screens. Neon signs are not as expensive as TV screens. This type of ad is common for independent stores.

  3. Some ads don’t even look like ads but they really are. That display of fruit, the guy shouting “2 dollar pizza”, a vertical garden, and even a barber’s pole, are all ways of saying , “Hi, come buy me!” Ads are everywhere whether you like it or not. So when you see these photos, think about how much time and thought went into each ad.
