  1. Wideband Conformal AntennaN00024-10-C-4146 Products: FIRST RF is developing antenna systems which are concealed as spare tires, light bars, license plates, gas canisters, roof racks, and other features on both tactical and non-tactical vehicles. FIRST RF is also investigating other low-profile integration options for these antennas. Payoff: These antennas maintain the same electrical performance as their more prominent legacy antenna counterparts, but provide considerably better concealment, disguising the visibility and notoriety of the platforms onto which they are integrated Purpose: To develop and demonstrate low-profile and conformal antenna concepts to disguise and conceal high-performance antennas for both tactical and non-tactical vehicles, thereby reducing the visual signature of high-value assets. Contract period of performance: 23 Aug ’10 – 22 Aug ‘11 Transitions: Several customers have expressed interest in these ideas for both tactical and non-tactical platforms, as well as fixed-site applications. FIRST RF believes these antennas represent a beneficial next-generation realization of modern high-performance antennas. Sponsors: The program is currently in the Basic portion of a Phase II SBIR effort being coordinated for PMS 408 through Navy SPAWAR (COTR: Robert Higginson: rhiggi@spawar.navy.mil; (619) 553-2569).
