Many applications require a wire-to-board connector that is sub-miniature in size and offers engineers design flexibility.
The crimp style ZH series and insulation displacement ZR series wire-to-board connectors are on a 1.5mm (.059”) pitch, molded in a 94V0 PA6T (SMT headers), are available in SMT and through-hole versions, and incorporate both polarization anda friction locking feature. These low profile connectors have a top-entry height of only 5.5mm (.217”) (ZR series) and a thickness of only 3.5mm (.138”).
The ZH crimp style wire-to-board connector series is available in 2 through 13 circuits and will accept a wire range of 26AWG to 32AWG. The ZH connectors are rated at 1.0 amp AC/DC using a 26AWG wire, have a rating of 50 volts AC/DC and operate in a temperature range of -25 degrees centigrade to +85 degrees centigrade.
The ZH contacts, which are designed to accommodate a wire range of 26AWG to 32AWG, are tin-plated over a phosphor bronze base material. The construction ensures positive electrical contact and low contact resistance at all times even when subjected to vibration and distortion.

The ZH crimp style wire-to-board connectors offer design flexibility. This connector requires only about 45% of the installation space required by the standard JST 2.0mm (.079”) pitch connectors. With a mated height of 5.6mm (.220”) for top-entry and 3.7mm for side-entry headers in both through-hole and surface mount, the ZH series is compact and low-profile.
RoHS compliant (lead free) 94V0 glass-filled nylon 66 (through-hole) and 94V0 PA6T (surface mount) headers are available in top (straight) and side (right angle) mount. Header contacts are tin-plated, brass, copper-undercoated and reinforcements (for additional mechanical strength for the SMT types) are tin plated, nickel-undercoated copper alloy. Headers are fully shrouded to protect receptacles from damage and to provide guidance for the mating connector. SMT headers are provided on embossed tape for automatic insertion equipment. The ZH headers are compatible with the IDC ZR series.
The insulation displacement (IDC) ZR wire-to-board connector is available in 2 through 13 circuits and utilizes the ZH series board-mounted headers. Applicable for 30 and 28AWG, the ZR connectors are rated at 0.7 amps AC/DC using 28AWG wire, have a rating of 50 volts AC/DC and operate in a temperature range of -25 degrees centigrade to +85 degrees centigrade.
The ZR receptacles consists of a 94V0 glass-filled nylon 66 housing and RoHS compliant (lead-free) tin-plated over phosphor bronze contacts of a twin U-slot configuration ensuring a reliable connection. The housing also has a molded in strain relief for added security and wire retention.

Applicators are available for semi-automatic and fully automatic termination equipment normally found in the manufacturing environment as well as standard hand tools. Standard reels for the ZH series (13,000 to 16,000 pieces) are available for manufacturing. ZH series contacts are also available in 500 piece mini reels for engineering, lab and pre-production requirements.
