  3. illustrate • If you illustrate something, you draw a picture to explain or decorate it. • Diagrams, photographs, and maps can be used to illustrate a book. • If you wrote a book, how would you illustrate it?

  4. style • A style is a particular way of doing something. • I like the cartoonist’s style of drawing people. • What is your favorite style of drawing?

  5. textures • When you touch the surface of things, you feel their textures. • Textures can be smooth or rough. • What other words can describe textures?
