  4. Precipitating Factors • Lack of lab space and time • Limited instructor availability • Cost of supplies for practice (lab materials may cost as much as $12 each) • Limited student-instructor interaction • Unsatisfactory pass rates

  5. Video Interactive Learning Objects • Have specific objectives • Are very short (5-15 minutes) • Present video recordings of lessons or procedures • Have built-in quizzes and are interactive • Are widely accessible to students 24/7 • Are viewed repeatedly

How is this different than class? • Viewed prior to class as preparation • Viewed by students when they are studying • Available on CDs, DVDs, etc. • Available via iPod (and other MP4 players) • Available 24x7 from streaming server, www.ivyvilos.com • Used for self remediation rather than instructor remediation • Used in place of consumable lab supplies
