  1. So the workflow is more important now than it ever has been before. So let’s say you’re going to you’re going to shoot a movie that is a fifty thousand dollars movie versus let’s say for an instance. This is the next crucial stage in post-production, initial feedback. A common phrase in the industry is that you’re never really finished with a film, you just decide to put it aside. All of the logged and annotated raw media starts to come together in a final product. This is also an iterative process in which a rough cut is made then sent for review and approval. Our goal in QA at Avid is to try and emulate, as close as possible, our customers’ real world end-to-end production workflows in our test labs to identify and fix bugs before the software is released. With a customer base that spans the globe and covers many kinds of project types, unfortunately, we cannot test all of the specific workflows that exist and are in use day in and day out. Why is post production important? Post Production Supervisors are responsible for the post production process, during which they maintain clarity of information and good channels of communication between the producer, editor, supervising sound editor, the facilities companies (such as film labs, CGI studios and negative cutters) and the production In response to this, many media creation facilities have adopted the same QC tools for use in-house to avoid the failing at an outside facility. Many of these tools also have the ability to “fix” the media file errors they find. Failing QC can be a time consuming and expensive proposition. NAB 2019 didn't knock your socks off? The GNARBOX workflow is great for when you know you’ll need to do quick offloads out in the field but you just can’t bring your Jellyfish with you. • • How do you get your film on Netflix? There is no set page count for how long a feature screenplay should be, but generally speaking, your spec scripts should be between 110 and 120 pages. The rule of thumb with screenplays is that one page equals one minute of screen time. On ISIS I know I can hold alt while opening and lock myself out, but that doesn't work when the project is local. Concerns with high-availability, uptime and disaster recovery are the key elements in protecting your valuable digital assets. The new Media Composer looks exciting! :) https://t.co/6NHaHuf5ER — Projective Technology (@ProjectiveTech) June 19, 2019 What are the roles in film production? The approximate rule of thumb is: one page per minute. So, theoretically, 120 pages for a two hour movie. Having said that, action typically takes longer than dialogue, so an action heavy script may require post production photo editing software less pages to reach the two hour mark and dialogue heavy script more. Indie filmmaker friends It is important that you have all the tools, software, and hardware that you need during this process. Working in post-production means lots of time spent in dark rooms. Before you break out your vitamin D supplement, fear not, most editors are freelance and are employed to work on a variety of projects throughout their careers. Rather than imagining being locked in the same dark room for all eternity, experienced editors get the freedom to choose projects that excite them and are likely to work in a variety of post-production and facilities houses.

  3. The Media Match Network Don’t stop reading—this isn’t an article that is trying to convince you to outsource your post-production. It’s an article to explain how inefficiency in post-production is costing you serious money, and I am going to show you the process for creating an efficient workflow for yourself. I will say, though, that I am of the strong belief that once you are shooting more than 25 weddings a year, it’s time to send your post-production to someone else. However, most photographers are still shooting under that number, and today I want to show you a process that will work to kick some of your inefficient habits.
