  5. A Typical Day 7:30-8:45 Start your day with breakfast in your hotel 9:00-12:00 Enjoy a morning activity such as city sightseeing or a bicycle tour 12:00-1:00 Lunch. Your group may choose to take a tour manager’s suggestion for the best pizza/crepes/paella in town or browse a local market and picnic in the park 1:00-3:00 Participate in a Cultural Connection designed to immerse you in the local culture, or use an ACIS Walking Tour to explore a museum or sight 3:00-6:00 Free time to shop for souvenirs, explore local neighborhoods or relax in a town square 6:30-7:30 Time for dinner 7:30-11:00 An evening activity such as a boat ride, a show or concert, or a Culture Quest will keep you entertained – or enjoy activities as organized by your group leader

Learning Objectives Each trip includes specific Learning Objectives that are highlighted during the tour and which will help you reflect on the history and cultures of the place you are visiting! During your trip you will: • Learn about France’s colonial past through experiencing the multicultural and ethnic life of the capital. • Gain a sense of life in court while viewing and touring the lavish palace and gardens of Versailles.. • Examine the role monuments play in Paris’ history as represented in such renowned and imposing examples as the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.

  7. On every tour itinerary, ACIS has included Cultural Connections—interactive experiences that enable students to engage with the places, people and cultures they are visiting! Learn more about the Cultural Connections on your tour at www.acis.com/trips. • Paris Culture Quest: Seek out the unique stories, customs and buildings of Montmartre, one of Paris’ most bohemian neighborhoods. • Monet Masterpiece workshop: See if Claude Monet’s famed subjects, his garden and home, inspire your fingertip painting using impressionist techniques. • Paris Food Challenge: Venture into Paris’ markets with your team to find the best examples of French food and lead a tasting. • Be Cézanne: At a local atelier, learn about the great artist’s techniques, then put your new skills to the test and re-create one of his masterpieces

Trip Itinerary • Bienvenue to the City of Light! • During your visit to Paris you will: • Enjoy a sightseeing tour that shows you Paris’ famous sites including an afternoon visit to the Louvre! • Explore the artistic and cultural neighborhood of Montmartre as you compete in a Culture Quest • Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of Paris as you participate in a Food Challenge • Wonder at the beauty and majesty of Versailles…and perhaps, if there is time, find a place within the 250 acres of gardens…to paint! • You’ll have lots of time to discover Paris and find places of artistic inspiration!! Days 2-5 | Paris

  10. Trip Itinerary Day 6 | Giverny • Set off for Giverny… • Welcome to Giverny! This amazing location was the inspiration for Claude Monet’s water lily paintings. • Create your own impressionist work of art at your Monet Masterpiece Workshop.

Trip Itinerary Day 7 | Paris • Return to the City of Light! • Continue your discovery of this amazing city! • You will have plenty of time to find yet more inspirations for your work – maybe the nature of the Jardin du Luxembourg, the architecture of the Eiffel Tower or perhaps even Parisians enjoying coffee at a café!

Trip Itinerary • Journey to the South of France! • Take the TGV South to Avignon… be sure to enjoy the scenery on the way! • Continue to Aix-en-Provence where you’ll have a chance to Be Cézanne and paint one of his masterpieces! • Continue to Nice for dinner and enjoy your last evening in France! Day 8 | Nice
