  1. ONE – ARCTIC2ARGENTINA 2012 Press F5 key for slideshow* Charity Global Expedition from the Arctic Circle

  2. What is the “One Expedition –2012? Arctic One – Is a multidimensional expedition designed to promote sustainable, human-powered travel as a means to connect community, charity, and riders experiencing more than 32,000km journey through variable geography and climate zones, natural and man-made environments across 16 countries, 12 US States, 10 Canadian provinces and 2 territories crossing coast-to-coast (Vancouver to St. John’s), Mexico, Central and South America weaving along the Western Cordillera, also known as the longest continuous road in the world (except the 87km section of jungle known as the Darien Gap, hence, sailing to Columbia). The main goal is to bicycle the full length of the Pan-American, starting in Anchorage, AK. The Pan American Highway originates in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina. Since the origin of the Pan-American Highway is located above the Arctic Circle, this expedition will follow a route beyond the Arctic Circle reaching Inuvik as the starting point for the Arctic2Argentina.com At this junction, the expedition begins to accumulate greater distances riding through the arctic tundra zones, southbound through Yukon territory & British Columbia with no backup from outside. • To cycle the full length of the Pan-American route with no backup support, self-supported and ecologically sound. Expected route distance is 32,000km. • The second goal. Along with the challenges of crossing ultra-distances on a fully equipped Koga Miyata World Travellertouring supplied in a sponsorship deal with Commuter Bicycles, together with my family of 4 using trailers and tag-a-long bicycles we will journey 8,000km across 10 provinces of Canada adding a family dimension to this ultra-distance cycling event. It takes four months to cross the Canadian landmass from coast to coast, averaging 80km per day. There will be local visits in the campaign with IDEAS at many of the participating Chrohn’s and Colitis chapters across Canada, an excellent venue to feature expedition equipment, and we would like sponsorship to assist with filming rigs, video recording equipment preferably in HD. • Former organized tour charity riders had great success, and their campaign manager John C. Scott is an organizer on my A2A team for 2012. See more…
