Esri Web Components • ArcGIS Server • Software that gives you the ability to distribute GIS Map services over the Web. • Author, Publish (ArcGIS, WMS, KML), Consume. • Supports desktop, mobile and Web applications. • ArcGIS Viewer for Flex • Ready to use Web mapping application. • Built on the ArcGIS API for Flex. • Configurable through XML files – can be customized and deployed without programming. • Functionality is defined by code blocks called widgets. • New functionality can be created by developing custom widgets. • Several custom or modified widgets are available from the Esri user community in the Code Gallery. “There’s a widget for that” • Custom widget development does require a development environment such as Adobe Flash Builder 4.
