  2. Today’s event: Aims • To support HEIs/RW Partnerships to plan, evidence and evaluate performance in their new strategy(ies), building on lessons learnt from previous initiatives • To strengthen the alignment between the L&T, WA strategy(ies), RW, regional and other related strategies

  3. Today’s event: Aims • To ensure strategy(ies) demonstrate distance to betravelled, identify SMART outcomes and demonstrate Welsh HEIs’/RW Partnerships’ success in WA to HE. • To launch the HEA/HEFCW/sector retention publication and share some practice updates.

  4. Strategy(ies) planning context • Remit letter 2011-12 • Regional Strategies • L&T and WA Strategy Supplementary Guidance published May 2011 W11/17HE • WA allocations and the funding model further aligned with our Corporate Strategy priorities.

  5. Strategy(ies) planning context • Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol • Child Poverty Strategy • Part-time Learners and Study Pathways • Employability: STEM and the HE National Programme Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) • Equality and Diversity & Equality Impact Assessments

Fee Plans and WA Strategies • Basic fee: £4,000; max £9,000 • Fee plans approved by HEFCW (W11/14HE) before WA strategy(ies) submitted • Fee plans cover equality of opportunity (widening access) and promotion of higher education • Welsh domiciled students gain fee grant • HEFCW pays fees and fee grants and also funds institutions • Part-time support (awaits White Paper) • Implications for WA Strategy(ies)
