  2. OVERVIEW Seberang Perai Polytechnic was established on 1st September 1998 at Jalan Permatang Pauh, Pulau Pinang. This campus is built on an area of 100 acres. PSP is located in the rapidly growing industrial areas and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the campusfrom Georgetown, Pulau Pinang. This polytechnic is the 10th polytechnic being set up in Malaysia in line with the government policy to produce semi-professional workers in order to achieve Malaysia 2020 Vision. PSP was officially launched on 27 November 1999 by the Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. PSP offers full time and part-time programmesfor Diploma level in the field of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce and Information Technology and Communication.
