  7. Flipchart • Sheets can be pre-prepared • Students can take sheets away for further study • Doesn’t need special pen (cf whiteboard)

  8. 16mm projector mostly replaced by video

  9. Overhead projector • Pre-prepare slides • Easy with computer and inkjet printer • You don’t have to turn your back on the group

  10. PowerPoint • Project from PC onto screen • View on PC screen (small groups) • Print as overhead projector slides • Make 35mm slides • Print on paper

  11. BUT ….. “Death by PowerPoint” Too many animations Tutor reading off the screen Tutor using presentations designed by someone else

  12. Interactive Whiteboards • Tutor/students write on the board, then it prints it with its own printer or via a PC • Some echo the PC screen on the board and are touch-sensitive • Group brainstorming can be saved on the PC or printed

  17. Making Handouts, Worksheets and OHP slides Type Computer Handwrite (if your handwriting is OK!) Scanned or photocopied diagrams Computer clip art Internet Rub-off transfer lettering Draw or trace it yourself The real thing (fabric, lace etc stuck on)

  18. Photocopy as handouts (paper colour? Filing system?) Enlarge to A3 to make a poster, or for students with visual disabilities, or for flipchart To make OHPs: Photocopy onto photocopier /laser printer acetate If it’s a computer file, print in COLOUR onto OHP inkjet film with an inkjet printer BLACK & WHITE onto photocopier/laser printer acetate with a laser printer (you can add writing by hand using WATER-BASED or PERMANENT OHP pens) Making Handouts, Worksheets and OHP slides Type Computer Handwrite (if your handwriting is OK!) Scanned or photocopied diagrams Computer clip art Internet Rub-off transfer lettering Draw or trace it yourself The real thing (fabric, lace etc stuck on)
