  2. In The Beginning • 2003, Development the Gallery and Sculpture Court. • $750,000 ($500,000 Grant from CASA) • Upgrade Identified the Need for the Hall to also be Renovated to the same standard

  3. Planning (Stage 1) • Consultation. Initial Public Meetings to Determine Support & Future Venue Needs • Community Working Party Established • Structural Engineering Assessments Completed • Funding Sought & Won to Conduct a Feasibility Study ($70k). • Council Reports Submitted throughout duration of the Project (in principle support at this stage)

Planning (Stage 1 Continued) • Draft Concept Design & Drawings Developed • Market Cost Analysis Completed • Initial Community Consultation • Further Consultation with Draft Design Drawings (2 months) written feedback and Public Meetings • Collate Feedback & Report Back to Council • Re-draft Plans in Response to Public Feedback

Planning (Stage 2) • Extensive Budget Planning • Extensive Business Plan Developed • Final Report to Council for Approval • Tender Documentation, Award Contract to Builder • Plan Relocation of Staff and Community Groups • 300 page application for Funding RLCIP (due 23.12.09) • Commence Build and Manage through 12 Months • Plan Major Opening (Certificate of Occupancy Awarded 2 days Prior to Opening) Whewww! • Project Continues – Development of Systems, Staff, Marketing and Venue Management

  6. Funding Won • $20k Feasibility Study • $500k Rural Town Development Fund • $750k Regional Centre of Culture • $250k Capital (Arts SA) • $75k Private Business Sponsor • $30k Burke Urban (Illuminart Town Hall)

Key Success’s Local Heritage Icon - Now A First Class Multipurpose Visual & Performing Arts Centre • 4 additional staff (full time and part-time) • As a consequence - CBD Urban Design Feasibility Study Initiated • Ripples (2010 Regional Centre of Culture) • Stated “Best Regional Gallery in SA” (3000 attended R. Hannaford) • Local Economic Stimulus (Visitor Audiences/Tourism) • Strengthened collaborative partnerships • Illuminart – Town Hall Projected Light Show • Community Development Team move to Upstairs Office Space
