Programme Development Since 1997, cooperation with a number of UN agencies has been implementing a a Gender Statistics Programme (GSP) for African countries to their capabilities in the production, use and dissemination of gender statistics to lead to more effective policies promoting change for the benefit of women and the advancement of society as a whole GSP activities have commenced on both the regional and national levels in many African countries

Reports of these projects included gender statistics: national work plans, overviews of national workshops and challenges in the preparation of national statistical reports 16
