  1. Winter Weekend Activities You Must Try In Sydney Australia has become the best tourist attraction worldwide, one of the main reasons being the hot summers, mainly in Sydney. If you are a student studying and living in Sydney, you can experience the fantastic beaches, bars and restaurants, outdoor activities, and parks around the city. However, as summer ends, the temperatures start to drop, and before you know it, it's winter. The best thing is the sunny days during winter, and temperatures don't get too low in Sydney. Here are some things you can enjoy alone or with friends: Go to a vivid festival This is the city's light and art festival, which many people now recognize as the most exciting event globally. Vivid is a multi-award-winning festival where they illuminate the city with notable light art exhibitions on different iconic buildings. The festival has quickly grown into a one-of-a-kind global festival, which almost all tourists look forward to during the winter. Since there are not many outdoor activities during winter, it is the best time to learn about the city's history and culture. There are many museums and art galleries spread around the cities with different exhibitions. They update their collections regularly, so if you visited last year, there is something new to learn this year. They also host international exhibitions that you can be part of. Visit the Blue Mountains A drive to and up the Blue Mountains is one of the best daytime activities during winter to make you leave your UNSW student accommodation. The mountains are two hours from the city and covered with lush green forests, massive waterfalls, and occasional snow. Some activities to do while there include driving through the mountain towns, seeing the Three-Sisters, and enjoying hot chocolate in cafés along the mountain trail.
