  1. Welcome Back! Miss Gross 3rd/4th Grade Homeroom St. Mary School, Charlotte

  2. Classroom Information • New Website http://missgross.weebly.com Teacher contact information, classroom news, classroom party information, pictures, helpful websites, helpful apps, etc… CLASSROOM ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE.

  3. Changes… The 3rd/4th Homeroom and 5th/6th Homeroom will not be switching this school year. One classroom. One teacher. One Parent-Teacher Conference. All day.

  4. We always need… • Plastic bags • Magazines – kid friendly • Non-perishable food for St. Vincent de Paul to be taken up during Offertory at Friday mass • The St. Mary Bulletin specifies what they are in need of each month. I will try to put this on my website.

  5. Snacks&Water Bottles Daily snacks in the morning. Students may bring one nutritional snack. I do not provide snacks. Water only. They must be taken home daily to be washed and cleaned. Storage on the back closet door.

  6. Curriculum • Language Arts • Grammar: Simple Solutions • Writing: Lucy Calkins/6 +1 Writing Traits • Literature: Basal, Novels • Phonics (3rd grade only) • QRA

  7. Curriculum cont. • Math • Saxon Math • Science • Discovery Ed • Social Studies • 3rd – Michigan history/Communities • 4th – Michigan/Regions • Religion • New Series: Blest Are We (same curriculum as Religious Education Program)

  8. Homework • Daily – One or two lessons in Simple Solutions • All work that is not completed in class is homework. Homework will be written down in agendas daily, and checked when completed by the student. I DO NOT REQUIRE parent signatures. • All incomplete or “I left it at home” will done during lunch recess. • There will be no homework on weekends.

  9. Behavior Policy/Self-Management • St. Mary School is always looking for students who are responsible, respectful, positive, and acting as a good role models. • Each students’ name will be on the board for the entire quarter. Marks will be placed next to their name when they fail to act as responsible, respectful, positive role models both inside and outside the classroom.

  10. MyStudentProgress • I ask for your patience, as this is a new program we are all getting familiar with. • I will try my best to update as often as possible, but in the beginning it will take some time.
