Why ‘BigasSarilingAtin’?

In the 2011 SONA, H.E. President Benigno Simeon Aquino declared as national policy the Food Staples Sufficiency Program and emphatically stressed:

“Una, hindinatayoaangkat ng hindikailangan. Ikalawa, ayawnanatingumasasapag-aangkat. Angisasaingni Juan dela Cruz ditoipupunla, ditoaanihin, ditobibilhin.”

staple food to around 1 million families of government employees (or GEs) nationwide.

  • If AO: Required funds shall be included in the President’s Budget for approval of Congress (General Appropriations Act) and possible realignment of Senators’ and Congressmen’s 2014 Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
  • If enacted into Law: (it will strengthen the Administrative Order or AO of the President to sustain the MRAP-BSA even beyond 2016)
