  1. Pipeline operators work in gas facilities, oil refineries, or power plants. The technicians are experts in controlling pumping systems, testing tanks, or regulating the flow of oil. Generally, they have a computer workstation to control such operations in the pipeline. In addition, they also have the responsibility to observe pipes and equipment for leaks and other damages. Those interested in this career, need to have a degree and some relevant experience. Some positions require additional certifications.
