  4. Uses • 1. Hydramethylnon is an insecticide used primarily in baits for cockroaches and ants-notably fire ants. • 2. Hydramethylnon is practically nontoxic to mammals, birds, and honeybees. It is highly toxic to some freshwater fish, but exposure is rarely a problem because it decomposes rapidly in water. • 3. Products containing hydramethylnon are formulated as granules or impregnated materials such as baits or gels. • 4. Hydramethylnon is a registered chemical alternative for chlorpyrifos for use as a termiticide.
