  1. Propane Gas Ashley Griffin 12-3-10 1st hour

  2. Advantages • Some advantages of using a propane tank, propane gas or fuel are that it is a non-toxic fuel, colorless, nearly odorless, it is delivered as a pressurized liquid, and the companies add an additional odor to the mixture of chemicals to make it easier and faster to detect if the tank breaks.

  3. Environmental Effects • The environmental effects of propane is short term. Fuel oil appliances emit 17% more carbon dioxide rather than gas appliances. Propane is not considered to be a greenhouse gas in its liquefied stored state. However, if used as a fuel for internal combustion engines or as a domestic heating and cooking gas it does produce greenhouse gases.

  4. Accessibility • Propane gas is a nonrenewable resource so when its gone, its gone. It is easy to get but it is costly money wise.

  5. Timeline for starting production • Propane is available now but as said in previous slides it is a nonrenewable resource so if every one in the world has a propane tank and uses it all the time it is more likely to be gone faster and not be able to use it anymore.

  6. Manufacturing • Propane is the only alternative energy that is here now, cost effective and readily available across the United States. Over 14.6 million vehicles worldwide run on propane AutoGas – the world’s most widely used alternative fuel.

  7. My Opinion • In my opinion propane gas is an excellent way of using gas to power not just heat in homes but to run the most fuel efficient cars and trucks that will emit less pollutants into the air we breathe daily. It will also be a disadvantage because when it runs out we are done and it cant be replaced.
