  4. Course Format • Allowed 10 minutes break per hour of teaching • Course Time: 12:15- 4:05 PM • We’ll break from 2:00- 2:15 (ish) PM • We’ll generally go to ~ 4 PM to allow time for after class questions & Team interactions. (if that’s OK with the class)

Participation & Attendance • Participation is key! • You learn in proportion to what you put into this class. • Lots of opportunities to get involved • Class attendance is expected. • Poor attendance can affect your participation grade since this is an experiential class. • If you anticipate missing a class, I would appreciate if you would let me know about the situation in advance.

Class Etiquette • Laptop use in class is discouraged unless it applies to class. • Calculators will be very helpful for in-class exercises, • Cell phones/Blackberries/etc. should be turned off for class periods, • Please be respectful of your classmates and professor by listening when they are talking and not creating side conversations.

  21. REQUIRED MATERIALS • Text: Operations & Supply Management: The Core (2nd Ed.) by Robert Jacobs and Richard Chase, published by McGraw-Hill Irwin 978-0-07-340333-5. Available at PSU bookstore or through other booksellers. • Methods Book: The Problem Solving Memory Jogger: Seven Steps to Improved Processes by Goal/QPC, Daniel Picard, Francine Oddo and Michele Kierstead (Jun 10, 2000). Available from Amazon for $2 to $11 each. • Course Case & Reading Packet available at CleanCopy on Broadway. • Littlefield Technologies SimulationLittlefield Technologies, Responsive Learning Technologies. ISBN-0-9770944-0-5. Simulation Access Code: purchase on-line for $18) and each student needs an access code or he or she cannot get credit for the assignment. • A calculator should be brought to class every day.
