Updates on H.IDscheme (1/5) • ITU-T SG16 meeting (Geneva, 27 January ~ 6 February 2009) • There were questions: • Why do we need new ID schemes? • Do we need more than one new ID scheme? • It was agreed to analyze current existing ID schemes and their use cases to answer the first question (Time frame: June 2009) • If we reached consensus on the first question, we need more survey on second question (Time frame: October 2009)

Updates on H.IDscheme (2/5) • During 8th CJK NID WG (Zhangjiajie, 8 ~ 10 April 2009), it was agreed to prepare joint contribution to WP2/16 meeting (22 ~ 26 June 2009) by Korea, Japan and France Telecom based on following 2 documents • Issues on H.IDscheme (CJK-NID08-012R1, TTA) • Survey on ID code schemes for NID applications and services (CJK-NID08-013, TTC)

Updates on H.IDscheme (3/5) • CJK NID WG prepared a joint contribution and submitted to WP2/16 as AVD-3825 • It explains requirements for ID schemes for tag-based application defined in F.771 • It investigate 9 ID schemes which are internationally standardized including EPC • It showed that those 9 ID schemes do not satisfy the requirements in F.771

Updates on H.IDscheme (4/5) • Summary of AVD-3825 • ID-002: Identifier is required to be assigned for real-world entities such as physical/logical objects, persons, and places. • ID-003: Identifier is required to be issuable by any organizations such as business companies, non-profit organizations, governments and individual users. • ID-004: Identifier is required to be globally unique so that the multimedia information access triggered by the identifier is globally available. ⃝: satisfied, : unsatisfied, ※: Not strictly satisfied

Updates on H.IDscheme (5/5) • ITU-T WP2/16 meeting (Geneva, 22 ~ 26 June 2009) • It was agreed to add survey result to H.IDscheme as a Appendix • It was also agreed to add survey on xCode and ucode to this Appendix • Latest text of H.IDscheme was published as TD-42 • For the next SG16 meeting (Geneva, 26 October ~ 6 November 2009) • We need to answer to second question “Do we need more than one new ID scheme?” • Also, it was requested to survey on using combination of existing ID schemes instead of designing new generic ID schemes

Updates on H.IRP (1/3) • ITU-T WP2/16 meeting (Geneva, 22 ~ 26 June 2009) • Q.22/16 reviewed X.oid-res (ISO/IEC 29168) of SG17 • At the previous meeting, Q.22 agreed to use X.oid-res for H.IRP if X.oid-res satisfy the requirement of H.IRP • Q.22/16 reached conclusion that X.oid-res satisfy the requirements of H.IRP • Annex A of H.IRP can easily adopt X.oid-res and Annex B needs some analysis to use X.oid-res • Latest text of H.IRP was published as TD-43

Updates on H.IRP (2/3) • Before next SG17 meeting (Geneva, 16 ~ 25 September 2009) • Analysis on Annex B should be finished and LS to SG17 should be sent • Proposed plan for LS to SG17 • Analysis on Annex B by Japan should be done by 28 August • LS officer to SG17 from SG16 will submit LS by 9 September • For the next SG16 meeting (Geneva, 26 October ~ 6 November 2009) • We need to revise the Annex A and B to use X.oid-res for multiple ID resolution • It can be done individually but, any comment from CJK are welcome • For Annex A, input from CNNIC is invited as a contribution to SG16 (by 16 September) or as comments to the editor (by 9 September)
