  1. Can You Believe It? Canada is home to some pretty strange landforms and weather, but don’t bet that all the following statements are true. Which ones are true? Which ones are false? Lets test our knowledge!

  3. 2. Canada has volcanoes that could erupt one day. TRUE

  12. Unit 1 Vocabulary – Find the definitions • Region • Landform Region • Escarpment • Ecozone • Biome • Boundary • Transition Zone • Plateau • Glacial Period • Climate • Using the glossary in your textbook, copy the definitions for the following terms into your notes.

  13. Copy the game board on the left onto a scrap piece of paper. Fill in the blank boxes with terms from Unit 1 Vocabulary. I will read the definitions out-loud and you will have to find the corresponding term on your game board. BINGO BINGO **You will need to know 2 terms and definitions for a quiz tomorrow!**

Proper Mapping Technique (Copy into Notes) • When creating maps this semester, you MUST remember to follow these guidelines, every map must: • Have a TITLE • Have a LEGEND • Have a NORTH ARROW (COMPASS ROSE) • CAPITALIZE Provinces and Territories • LABEL - Use black PEN • Write HORIZONTALLY • COLOUR Appropriately • Be ACCURATE • Write your NAME • Use the outline of the Map of Canada provided to complete the map. Make sure you follow the above guidelines.
