Tutored Video Instruction with Classroom Interaction • Joint project between University of Washington, Beihang University, and Microsoft Research Asia • Offer an undergraduate course using Tutored Video Instruction • MSRA and Beihang University wanted UW course offered at Beihang • Instructor could not travel to Beijing for full course • Time difference prevented distance course China Central Party School

Course results • Three class sections offered at Beihang • Exam performance similar between UW and Beihang (on same exams) • UW Instructor visited, observed class session and gave lecture • Beihang classes very interactive with student discussion • Materials in English, but discussion in Chinese • Students gave positive evaluation China Central Party School
