  1. CIS 598 Will Strohmeier Overview and Requirements

  2. Outline • Goals • Features • Requirements • Tools

  3. Goals • Provide the ACM club a way to quickly and easily manage brackets for LAN tournaments. • Do this though a web application that will be hosted on the ksuacmlanparty.info website. • Eliminate the time setting up the bracket and make progressing through the tournament easier.

  4. Features • Ability to generate a bracket given a list of names. • Have the option to have double elimination (auto create a losers bracket). • Automatically insert and deal with byes. • Have a quick view where it displays the current matches and upcoming matches.

  5. Requirements • I’m in CIS 526 (Web Interface design) this semester, so I would like to have a clean user friendly website. • The site must run quickly and without bugs to keep the tournaments going. • Provide clear views so you can see how the tournaments progress.

  6. Tools • MySQL • PHP • Symfony1.4 • Git • Internet

  7. Development • I will keep an updated list of features, or use cases, that I want to implement on my website. • Each week I’ll select the items I want to implement. • At the end of the week I’ll update my list and get ready for next week’s iteration.
